Some paintings just take time... Memory Lane is one of them. Part of my Memories Series, Memory Lane is 30"x 24" 3-Dimensional Oil. The Memories series started off as just a way to utilize all the paint I don't use, scrape off another painting or the paint that comes off the palette knife before dabbing into another color. They have evolved into a wonderful story. I always keep a canvas on hand just for this series - this one took a while. Layers and layers of paint, some are carefully sculpted, haphazardly placed or piped on - a culmination of hours and other paintings. Memory Lane was started in 2020 as I was preparing for a solo show at The Art Centre of Plano. This one has so much movement and texture - I particularly love the piping bag squiggles. Back to the studio to create new Memories.
