Colorful Mind Series: Blow Your Mind
Blow your mind
12” x 12” 3-Dimensional Oil
When I’m commissioned to paint something custom, the first thing I always ask is, “What colors are on your mind?” That’s where it all begins. Color leads to everything, sometimes it’s the starting point, sometimes it’s the whole idea.
People often ask where my inspiration comes from, and honestly? It’s whatever colors are living in my head that day. And sometimes, after a piece is finished, I find myself wondering, what was I thinking? That question inspired this series of smaller works.
This piece is a maquette—a small-scale study created as part of a larger project. I needed to evaluate a new element on a more intimate scale. Once photographed, the element was removed so I could use it again in the final pieces. It’s a bit of process-meets-play, where every layer tells me just a little.
