This vibrant, abstract painting began as a reflection on a dear friend recently diagnosed with cancer. As I painted, my thoughts moved through sorrow, strength, hope, and deep gratitude. Amid the swirling colors, the faint outline of a tree takes shape—its presence subtle but strong, a symbol of resilience and quiet grace. Circling the trunk are blossoms, representing the beauty she has nurtured: her children, her relationships, and the joy she's cultivated through the years.
Though abstract, the piece is deeply grounded in meaning. The roots speak to the foundation she has built, while the blossoms hint at all the life still unfolding—memories yet to be made, blessings yet to bloom. It is a meditation on love, legacy, and the enduring power of gratitude. Because even in the face of uncertainty, a life lived with an open heart remains luminous.
