When I am lucky enough to be commissioned to create something for someone, the first question I ask is “What colors did you have in mind” ?  Often people ask me how I come up with ideas for paintings the answer is “Whatever colors are in my mind”.   Sometimes when I am done painting a piece, I ask myself “what was on my mind”? You see where I am going here… a new series of smaller 3-Dimensional Oil and mixed media works.  These first 6 are maquettes created for a larger project that will have some different elements included in the painting and I needed to sample that on a smaller scale.   Once the maquette was photographed, the element was removed so I could create each finished piece.
